Jill A. Thomas brings with her over 29 years' litigation experience to Callahan & Blaine. Her areas of practice include complex civil litigation in a wide variety of areas including business and real estate litigation, class actions, employment litigation, professional liability, construction defect litigation, medical malpractice, personal injury, and insurance bad faith. She has successfully tried, arbitrated and mediated hundreds of cases.

Ms. Thomas is also a Certified Appellate Specialist, Board of Legal Specialization State Bar of California, and has successfully handled civil appeals for over 22 years before the California Supreme Court and the Courts of Appeal throughout the State of California as well as the United States Supreme Court and Federal District and Circuit Courts. Reported cases include Ridgley v.Topa Thrift & Loan Association (1998) 17 Cal.4th 970, an important Supreme Court decision concerning real estate prepayment penalties; First City Properties v. MacAdam (1996) 49 Cal.App.4th 507; In re Dallas W. (2000) 85 Cal. App. 4th 937; and Shekhter v. Sunset Masonry & Concrete (2004) 121 Cal.App.4th 1055, depublished at 2004 Cal. LEXIS 10927.

Early in her career, Ms. Thomas was a research attorney for the Law and Motion Department of the Orange County Superior Court and also worked as specially appointed appellate counsel for the California Appellate Project for the State of California.

Ms. Thomas was admitted to the California Bar in 1980 and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central, and Northern Districts of California. She is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Appellate Section of the OCBA, the Orange County Women Lawyers Association, and California Women Lawyers.
